YAMAHA YFL-211SL Flute

The Yamaha flute is a great flute for the intermediate player, all the way up to the professional player. The standard 200 and 300 model flutes feature nickel silver bodies, footjoints, and power-forged keys; drawn and rolled tone holes; stainless steel pivot screws, rod screws and springs; neoprene bumpers on trill and D# keys (200 series has nickel silver headjoints; 300 series have sterling silver headjoints).

The 200 series are adjusted by hand and undergo strict quality controls.

The flutes of the standard 200 series are designed to be especially easy to play. That makes them the ideal instrument for beginners and intermediates. However, the tone they produce sounds really professional. The flutes are robust and easy to hold. As the tuning is so accurate, it helps inexperienced players to develop their musical ear.

This flute is made of durable nickel silver with an attractive silver-plate finish. It features the same high-grade design and craftsmanship as the 300 and 400 series models, and has excellent response and intonation.

Adjustment Screws
Yamaha’s unique screw resistance inserts allow smooth adjustments while preventing gradual loosening of the screws. And the positioning of the screws has been changed for easier access.

Key posts have been thickened and redesigned for improved durability and strength to maintain accurate rod alignment.

Yamaha’s unique footjoint alignment marks facilitate proper fitting by young players.

All key shapes and placement have been ergonomically designed for comfortable, natural-feeling performance.
They are hand-assembled and adjusted for a perfect ‘touch’ and balance.

The CY headjoint included with all student flutes features a double flare taper and unique embouchure hole undercut design for excellent response and a warm rich tone.
It helps beginners quickly learn to produce a beautiful sound, while more advanced players will appreciate its even, quick response in all registers.
